remove the control panel from whichever Library/PreferencePanes directory it was installed into.
maybe logout and back in again.
or even keep it and reduce its effectiveness to near normal.

I don't think this one has been mentioned.... I think Microsoft's Remote Desktop is a wonderful app. I have had my iBook for almost a year now and Remote Desktop was one of the major reasons I decided to delve into the Mac world. I go to a college with abundant wireless access and I can basically use my Mac as both a Mac and PC (Remote Desktop allows you to remotely log in to a windows machine). And don't just on me for this.....there are some programs at school we have to use that are Windows only.... :rolleyes:

The simple fact that the Financial Times is a UK company and therefore their privacy policy actually means something kind of takes the wind out of your sails somewhat.
Just read their privacy policy and it is clear that they only send you junk email if you explicitly allow it. Plus as an ex-FT subscriber I can state I haven't received any junk mail of any kind.
Then why don't they let me explicitly allow it like Apple wants them to do?

Don't think iTunes can do this, but if the audio files aren't encrypted, you can use VLC to play them and disable the video via Video > Video Track > Disable.

Guess no one here has ever heard of block/byte level data de-duplication? 12PB goes a long way..
interesting concept - if used to store mobileme type data and with original content like videos taken with hd video capable phones, is dedup as effective - just wondering -

Good, bad, right or wrong, Apple is not going to release any new hardware until it rolls out its "cloud." And after it flips the switch on the cloud, there will be a month or two or three of integrating the cloud into existing hardware before they roll out anything new.
No iPhone until late fall at earliest. Probably not until next year.

This is probably a "duh" question. Can you use a microphone with the iPod Touch 3g and still hear the speakers? (Since there is only one input.) The reason I ask is that some young nieces enjoy the Gina the Giraffe and other interactive apps on an iPhone. If so, what mike do you recommend. Thanks. David

u don't need .Mac to use iChat. you can use iChat with AIM account. and I keep hearing this rumor that MSN and Yahoo account might be added.
so sign up for a jabber account, and then use Transports to connect to MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, etc etc.
A lot of other services offer "simmilar" features, but none that i have seen/used/heard of offer the same integration that .Mac does.
